The most critical step in care is drying. After gently pressing out excess water by rolling the top in a clean towel, you must always lay the garment flat on a mesh rack or dry towel to air dry. While the top is damp, gently reshape it to its original dimensions. Never hang a wet crochet top.
Finally, proper storage ensures your top lasts. Crochet garments should always be folded and stored on a shelf or in a drawer. Hanging crochet tops, especially heavier sweaters, will cause the shoulders to stretch and create unsightly bumps.
